Spring League Registration Opens Feb. 15 at 9am!

Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 9 a.m. on the dot, registration for Volleyball Beach’s 2022 Spring League is open for online signups! Spots fill quickly for the warm weather fun-in-the-sun outdoor season! And with the winter dome packed away, more courts and even more fun at the Beach is on the way! Join the Spring League at Volleyball Beach Kansas City!

For the 2022 Spring League for the first time ever the leagues have been divided into four skill levels vs three to  accommodate real Power Hitters! Level A – Power is now exclusively for the most competitive players! Here is a quick skill level overview for each to help you determine which level is best for you and your team!

A – Power 

  • Players who are highly competitive and want to play against other highly competitive players.
  • Highly athletic.
  • Perform all skills: BLOCKING, SETTING, PASSING, and HITTING.
  • Know how to cover the court defensively during a serve and during a hit.
  • Can pass a hit or serve receive to the setter frequently.
  • Power Hitters!
  • Collegiate players, Pros, etc…
  • Front row hitters are able to take an approach and hit the ball consistently.
  • Know what covering a hitter means.
  • Setters can set a basic outside, middle, and right side ball with minimal spin.
  • Get 90% of serves, or more, in play.

BB – Upper-Intermediate

  • Perform all skills: BLOCKING, SETTING, PASSING, and HITTING.
  • Know how to cover the court defensively during a serve and during a hit.
  • Can pass a hit or serve receive to the setter frequently.
  • 2 or more Strong Hitters.
  • Front row hitters are able to take an approach and hit the ball consistently.
  • Know what covering a hitter means.
  • Setters can set a basic outside, middle, and right side ball with minimal spin.
  • Get 80% of serves, or more, in play.
  • Very good players, but not as consistent as A-level Power players.

B – Intermediate

  • Attempt to make three hits per side.
  • Have a setter, but most of the time the setter is setting from the middle position.
  • Hitters can usually keep the ball in play but power hitters should not be in this league.
  • Have a decent knowledge of the rules.
  • Get about 70% of serves in play.

C – Recreational 

  • Just want to have fun!
  • Includes, but is not limited to, beginners.
  • No hitters that are hitting downward.
  • Do whatever is necessary to get the ball over the net.
  • Still want to win, but have fun either way!
  • Know the general rules of the game but may not know the more technical rules.

Volleyball Beach is excited to welcome new and returning players who are looking for a truly competitive league to join! This new added Power Level is perfect for those who are serious players looking to play against other serious players. If you have played collegiate or pro volleyball before, then this level is perfect for you! For our players who played in Volleyball Beach’s previous Power Level, but don’t feel like the new one is a good fit for them, we created Level BB – Upper-Intermediate! Make sure to review the league descriptions and choose the best one for you and your team so you can have the best experience possible at Volleyball Beach!
